It is kind of odd. You would think that there would be a lot of changes to our lives since we broke the news, but it seems pretty much the same.
I guess when you have been separated physically for so long because of work, you create your own life and adjust.
This adjustment has been very easy. I actually have improved things here. I mean for one, I feel worthy of things. I wear make-up now, get dressed up. I pick up the house more. I just feel alive again. I actually thing I even lost some weight. :)
The kids seem to have adjusted too. "M" is outdoors more, "A" is continuing to read, with the occasional, "I miss daddy", and "ML" is the same.
Money has been a bit of an issue because I am trying to find things online or from home to bring in extra income. I started selling on eBay months ago and it has been bringing a steady amount of money in. I also started to sell Mary Kay, and I am loving it. I have decided Bedroom Secretz will only be sold online and in eBay. I just do not feel comfortable selling or having it around the kids so I want it out of the house.
I will be having a yard sale this weekend so I will be able to incorporate money, and the dreaded word, MATH!!!

After the talk
Well the talk went better than expected. "M" and "A" balled their eyes out, and were very sad, however "ML" really did not know how to react, I mean he is only 7 and him and dad never really bonded. We discussed what a divorce was, and then dating. I also mentioned inappropriate touching in case I happened to meet a loser.
This morning "M" came to me and said " you know mom, I am kind of over it. Daddy has been gone a long time already". It breaks my heart to see her this way, but as former military kids, what else can you expect.
We are strong and will make it.

Had the talk
Today the kids and I will be discussing the new changes we will be facing. I am so nervious because "M" is so attached to "D". I am unsure how the other two will take it.
I wanted to have this talk with "D" here but it will be "two weeks" till he is back in town. I am really starting to hate that phrase. So again, I go at it alone.
I will update you on the kids reaction soon.

Newly Single Home School Mom
Well it is official. D and I have separated. We talked last night and things are not working, and we feel that it is best for the kids to separate.
His truck driving career and family life also do not mesh well. I need someone to support me and and he has not been there for me for several years now.
I would have to say that being a home schooling family has given me confidence to take this next step in our lives.
Thankfully D is understanding and willing to help. So being a newly single home schooling family may be challenge, but thankfully, I have a great support system.

Paint Spelling
Today we tried something new and Miss Perfectionist is not happy with it. Princess Button and Prince Cookie LOVED it. We did paint bag spelling. I created my own "paint" because I did not have the supplies. I sifted and used three cups of flour, water and food coloring mixed well. I put 6 tablespoons in each bag, note to self use less. :) Since Princess Button and Prince Cookie's words were smaller they worked well however, Princess Button's words did not. Anyway, they did have fun and learned some spelling.

A change in plans.
After the King's surgery, and after being released from his Knighthood duties, the King is ready to get back on to the daily challenges of another apprenticeship. The King has been accepted in to the school of transportation engineer.
Due to the change the Queen must commence with her daily duties of governess.
