First LapBook
Today was supposed to be an awesome day. Since these Sims are all Texas Born and for the most part Texas Raised, we wanted our minions to have an understanding of Texas.
I am such a perfectionist when it comes to crafts that I REALLY wanted this to be perfect, but it wasn't. The kids were super excited so they did not listen well, and that is where I got frustrated.
I cannot say that it was a total mess, because they actually learned something, I just wish I could have handled it better than being so nitpicky.
I found an awesome blog, on Texas, and used her material so the kids can create their own lap books.
Princess Button worked on the flags and other traditions, while Prince Cookie was supposed to work on Texas symbols, yet he refused and went to his room to play, and Princess Bunny, worked on the Alamo.
For the most part, it turned out great. Better luck next time.

Sight Words
My mom, the Extreme Queen, found this amazing game at the Good Will; yes even royalty can shop there. You never know what you can find.
I recently told her about our homeschooling adventure, and she jumped at the chance to support us. Go Mom!
Anyway, she found a game more for Prince Cookie, but the princesses loved helping him, plus it is Bingo, but with Sight Words. Ha! Another bingo game! THEY LOVED IT!! It was a good game because Princess Bunny had trouble on a few words. Next week we will move on to the second level of the game.

Math Day
Today, I am focusing on Prince Cookie, and his numbers. I noticed last week he has a hard time counting. So this week we played “NUMBO”. It is basically bingo but with the numbers 0-99.
For the most part he did pretty well. He needed a lot of help but they had a blast. The princesses even helped Prince Cookie with his numbers.
We also worked on patterns. The minions have the hardest time saying it. It sort of comes out “Patterings”. CUTE!
I had them create “Patterings” with beads, stickers and stamps. Princess Button sped through the activity but was patient and decided to create more patterns.

Our official first day!
Well, yesterday I talked about how the Home Schooling Sims needed a school name. Yeah, well those minions were no help. I guess I will have to think of something, hmmm.
Ok still no luck, so we will be the unnamed school, temporarily.
Today, I did a placement test, which I found online. I really should save these links, they come in handy. Anyway, I will “grade” them tonight, or whenever, I can get to them.
So far, it looks like my Prince Cookie, knows his stuff. The princesses were excited until Princess Button saw how many sections she has to do. Each section is a separate grade level. I explained she did not have to do them all, that she could take her time. Math is not her favorite subject. Yikes!

Our big day, tomorrow.
The kids are super excited. We begin our first day, tomorrow.
I have check out some websites, and they suggest we name our school. I also decided that we should have a routine. I do not like the idea of being limited on time, so the kids and I will work on a subject or a few subjects a day.
Princess Button really wants to learn Spanish, so we are going to attempt it. Princess Bunny loves to sing so we will try to incorporate that as well as invest in ear plugs. Prince Cookie just wants to play.
I wonder what name they will come up with . . .
